The Social Studies Council of Alabama (SSCA) has been working hard the last few years to provide professional development for teachers of social studies in Alabama. SSCA has successfully hosted an annual conference each fall that brings together the Alabama’s teachers and prospective teachers from all levels. We appreciate your partnership with us on our conference. Working together helps make social studies strong in Alabama.

We would like to build on our success with the annual conference by developing a website that communicates the vision and activities of SSCA. Our website has not been able to provide a wide range of capabilities that we feel our membership needs: conference registration, proposal submissions, payment of dues and registration fees, and access to timely information and resources about social studies issues. We want to upgrade our web presence in order to serve our membership better, but we need your help.

We believe that the SSCA website will become a first stop for social studies teachers who are looking for information about their field and resources to use in the classroom. In order to create a website that will meet the needs of our members, we will need at least $2000 in start-up costs and monthly maintenance of $50. These needs go beyond what we can afford as a volunteer-run membership organization. We are offering sponsorship opportunities on our website for venders who serve social studies teachers in Alabama.
